Rockland Kenya Ltd is a member of the International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA), a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the global colored gemstone industry. Hon. Muthama's contribution to this body has earned international recognition.
The Kenya Chamber of Mines, formed in 2000, represents the interests of Kenya's miners and mineral traders. Hon. Muthama is a founding member of this body.
The Kenya Chamber of Mines was formed in 2000 to represent the interests of Kenya's miners, exploration companies, and mineral traders. Hon Muthama is the founding member of this body and recognized as the key figure within the industry.
The Chamber also seeks to associate these interests with national and local community interests (such as the objectives of Vision 2030), and to involve other stakeholders in order to ensure that these interests do not cause harm to the environment and the communities.
This year, the Kenya Chamber of Mines (KCM) hosted the Eastern Africa Mining and Energy Conference. The conference aimed to discuss emerging investment opportunities in the Eastern Africa mining and oil and gas sector, exploring the convergence between extractive sector and the renewable energy sector.
The Kenya Chamber of Mines currently has 49 members.
The International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA), a non-profit organization, is the only world-wide body specifically created to benefit the global colored Gemstone industry. ICA was founded in 1984 and is now comprised of over 600 Gemstone dealers, cutters, miners and retailers from 47 countries who are devoted to advancing and promoting the knowledge and appreciation of colored Gemstones.
ICA's global network works to develop a common language for promotion and consistent business standards necessary to improve international communication and trade of colored Gemstones.
Over the years ICA has provided direct access to the source for colored Gemstones and related information. There is no other national or international organization with the same collective access to, and knowledge about, all levels of the colored Gemstone industry.
Rockland Kenya Ltd is currently one of the few Kenyan members of ICA. Hon Muthama's contribution to this body has earned international recognition.
